After this past year of exploring and challenging myself as an aspiring artist, I knew I had to get some lessons from one of the best in the singing community here in Los Angeles. While right now is not the ideal time to take vocal lessons during this pandemic.. I knew I had to take advantage of the ample amount of information on the internet. So about a month ago, I enrolled in Stevie Mackey’s online vocal course: Sing Anything Like A Pro. Mackey has worked with stars such as Nicole Scherzinger, Selena Gomez, Jennifer Lopez, JoJo, Kelly Rowland, etc. Mackey has also worked on the NBC Voice. I have also been following him as he has worked with some of my favorite underground vocal singers in LA such as Durand Bernard and Sheléa Frazier! And I have absolutely no regrets (while at first I had my doubts). I admire Mackey’s wholistic and custom approach to singing and though it was online, it felt very personal. I can only imagine what his students in his face-to-face lessons experience and discover about themselves! This course really helped to inspire a new work ethic for me to finally achieve my dreams of becoming a singer. You can learn more about Stevie here. I learned so much of the course that I can’t wait to share with ya’ll soon!
Happy Birthday to The Queen, Whitney Houston!
Thought I would leave ya’ll with some Whitney– a live performance of Whitney’s ‘You Give Good Love’ from The Tonight Show (1985).
Hope it sparks some inspiration in you or uplifts you in someway.

As you may have you heard on the radio, music artist Kygo has made a rendition of Whitney Houston’s iconic Song “Higher Love”. Can’t beat the original, but I love the come back of the song. Check it out below and let me know your thoughts!
Ugh, my favorite rendition of “Saving All My Love” by Avery Wilson & Shoshana Bean.
The talent in the room, Whew!

No such thing as too much Whitney Houston.
This song really gets to me only because I love the message and melody of the song.
Hope this takes ya’ll back to a good place and time.
As you may know, Houston’s vocals are a force to be reckoned with. But I love when an artist can skillfully deliver the song with power and soul. Here’s a rendition of Ms. Little JoJo, which eventually sky rocketed her into fame at a tender age of 9.. I appreciate when I see so much vocal potential in young singers. Gives me life, really.

I decided long ago never to walk in anyone’s shadows
If I fail, if I succeed, at least I’ll live as I believe
Houston’s voice is heaven sent. It could heal the broken. If this isn’t music, then I don’t know what is. Felt this performance pierce through my soul. A queen no one could EVER outshine idccc. forever my idol.
A legend was born.
Rest In Peace to one of the greatest. ♛
