Always appreciate when real singers come together. Hope ya’ll enjoy this performance with the great Jennifer Hudson & Keke Wyatt.
Wow, this is pretty exciting news to share with ya’ll.
If you hadn’t already know, Mariah Carey recently announced that her Glitter (2001) Album is finally released on Spotify. (Yay!)
This is for any aspiring vocalists who admire Carey or simply a Lambily Stan, to reminisce and dive more into Carey’s early years in her career. The album was released on August 18, 2001 in Japan by Sony Music and worldwide on September 11, 2001 by Virgin Records.
The album comes from Mariah Carey’s movie Glitter. Been a long time coming.
Some amazing songs on there that I feel ashamed that I didn’t know about prior.
You’ll see in the album that plays with Soul, R&B, Funk and hiphop/ rap.
Below are most of the tracks on the album:
Lead the Way (did some amazing runs in there)
If We (ft. Ja Rule & Nate Dogg)
Didn’t Mean To Turn You On
Don’t Stop (A fun funk track that deviates from Carey’s usual sound)
All My Life
Reflections (Care Enough)
Last Night a DJ Saved My Life (sampled from an older song)

R&B is live and well.
The music scene has slowly evolved the past decade and (thankfully) we see that the radio continues to play music from artists who have R&B/ soul influences. I compiled a list of a couple artists who are making waves in the music scene today and have become some of my contemporary influences today:
Just Say So
The talent in the room, phew!
Had the opportunity to attend my first Jazz concert to watch DeeDee Bridgewater, and was it such an incredible experience. So sad it ended so soon. So incredibly touched, so incredibly inspired. Only a reminder of how beautiful music is and how truly powerful it can be. Forever blessed to have witnessed all those who performed including the opening act of Raul Midón and Lionel Loueke and her musicians. Unfortunately, I was unable to record her performance but below is one of my favorite songs from her “Maybe Today” by Dee Dee Bridgewater. Incredible vocalist, as well as musicians!
