So the summer weather had me reminiscing and really had me missing my summer trips when COVID was far from sight and, then, nonexistent. I thought I’d throw it back & share with ya’ll my trip to the West Caribbeans 3 years ago, here on Chain of Arts especially since I don’t really do so. I just would like to add a disclaimer that: I do not, by any way shape or form, mean to brag about my trips, but to showcase my pure love and interest for videography. Vlogging, for me, is just more about putting video clips together, but serves as a creative outlet to showcase the diligence and ‘artistry’ you can say, that goes into a single creative project/ work piece.
In spite of contrary belief, Yes. Youtube is a lot of work, but if it’s something you love and feel good at.. then nothing is impossible. Enjoy.

As promised, I thought I’d give a little two cents on my Mavic Mini– which I am so incredibly excited for.
If you check out my previous post which you can find here New Purchase: Mavic Mini Drone, I share a little snippet of what I caught when I took her out for the first time. The Mavic Mini is so amazing in regards to what it is capable of in consideration of its’ compact size.
Here are some photos to give you an ideas of what the purchase includes, which are pictured below:
For the price of about $437, all items were included above.
I purchased my Mavic Mini directly from DJI and shipping was fairly fast and easy.
One thing I was must say is that I regret not purchasing the combo pack which includes extra battery and a hub charger, which I found would’ve been extra useful. For the combo pack, it would be an additional $100. Not too bad if I should say so myself. Other than that, if you are eager and simply looking for the device itself, everything you need is included in it’s original package– which is what I was looking for at the time haha.
It took about 4 days in total for package to arrive.
Below are a few up close photos of what was included in my box.
The great thing about purchasing the Mavic Mini is that its weight lies a little under 250g, 249g to be exact.
For those who are new to the drone world, as am I, this is extremely convenient because you are not required to register your done under the FAA, or the Federal Aviation Administration. Anything above 250g would need to be registered under FAA regulation. This makes it a bit easier to find areas to fly your done and bypass strict regulations of FAA without much of a hassle.
BUT of course, however, you do still need to take caution as any damages caused by the drone under hands (whether to human or property damage) is a liability for you as a drone flyer. So while the drone can bring so much joy, please be careful out there when operating!
Now for the technical and mechanics of the drone, I chose this drone because it is capable of flying about 4Kilo wide (2K miles wide) and about 600 ft high– which is actually pretty amazing for its size in comparison to other regular size drones. It has a 2.7k resolution which is astonishing for a drone much smaller than the average as well. It’s battery life also surpasses that of the average drones, which is 30 minutes. The typical battery life for other regular sized drones is about 15-20 min. It’s high resolution also allows you to take high quality photography and videos. Another thing to note is, the Mavic Mini has a return to home setting that allows your drone to fly back to you automatically when requested or when the drone senses that it is at low battery. I find it is fairly easy to operate once you get to know and familiarize yourself with its settings. The only thing I wish more of the drone was for it to have an active track/ follow you feature that allows the drone to follow you without any control of the device. I feel it is a bummer if you were looking to use the device for vlogs and such. Other than that, I have not experimented my drone long enough to list out its cons just yet, but would say I am pretty content with its performance so far.
With that being said, I hope this aids you in your own decision of purchasing the drone or resorting to another that may meets your needs much better. But for what it is, I think the Mavic Mini is packed with great features that makes it hard to beat considering its more affordable pricing. As a first time drone owner, I have much to learn in terms of the technical aspect and how to incorporate my knowledge of that into the beautiful art of cinematography. If you are interested please feel free to check out the drone on the DJI site or find a slightly cheaper deal on Amazon. Be sure to use my Affiliate link! Free shipping included.
I am considering of filming/ recording a more closer review as I experiment with my drone. Be sure to follow it up on my Youtube Channel if uploaded!

So this rap piece was inspired by much of the struggles I’ve experienced as a growing and aspiring artist.

but in this piece, I brush the surface of my early life and how I’ve become who I am today.

Known about Ms. Fischer for a while, but after watching the documentary 20 ft From Freedom, I knew I had to dig into her music. Her sound and voice is angel that it really takes you into a spiritual realm. I respect that in spite of her tremendous talent, she still chose to live a humble life. Mad respect.
Fischer was an icon in 80’s/ early 90’s. During her peak she was performing alongside greats like Luther Vandross, Tina Turner, and performed with the Rolling Stones. And later parted ways to discover her own sound. Amazing vocalist I must say.

So as you may be following me on my musical journey, I like to experiment with my songwriting abilities.
I’ve been listening to some rap lately like Wu Tang, Tu Pac, Kanye, Nipsey, and today’s female rappers like Meg The Stallion and Saweetie who are climbing the rap game. And it’s inspired me to get back to the pen again. Though I do not consider myself a rapper, I enjoy the word play, lyricism, flow, metaphors, idioms, etc. As someone who liked poetry as a kid I guess it never really left me. And I encourage ya’ll to stick to whatever it is that brings you joy whether it is playing guitar, singing, crocheting, cooking, etc. because while not everyone will appreciate your work there is someone out there in the world who will. And chances are, if the love is real, you’re only going to get better.
Anyhow, I like to experiment and explore with my music in voice, sound, and writing. When it comes to rap lyrics, I notice that when I write I channel my anger and frustration.. it’s something I can’t really help and that comes natural to me.. So for the older crowd, excuse the raunchiness & Vulgarity haha, just felt it was appropriate for this particular beat. Lately, I’ve been entertaining myself with podcasts on Spotify, specifically to Oprah’s Super Soul Conversations. I love her podcasts particularly because Oprah fuses spirituality into her conversations of real life problems that provoke deep thought in oneself and ultimately, inspiration to invoke action and change– on both an individual and collective level. One of the many that caught my attention was Oprah’s conversation with Joel Osteen on “Dream Big”. I think it is one that many people of all ages can relate to. In short, Oprah and Osteen discuss the importance of keeping steadfast to a vision that one may have in spite of adversity and challenges in their lifetime. Chances are, over a period of that, if that simple or ‘silly’ idea won’t leave your mind and stills heavily lingers, it might just be a calling. and one that you cannot turn down.
In the podcast, Dr. Osteen drops some great gems of inspirations that I would like to share with you guys.
“God won’t take you where he won’t protect you.”
“If you don’t talk to yourself, yourself will talk to you.”
“You’re closest to victory when you face the greatest opposition.”
“Privilege of a lifetime is to be who you are.”
I chose these quotes because it is an affirmation of a message that I struggled with myself throughout my lifetime. And that is: You are meant to live your true self. The harsh truth is you have full control of your life whether or not you may or may not feel that you do. A powerful message that I, sadly, only come to realize in its truest essence recently. But! as I also believe, it is never too late to do what makes your soul happy. regardless of where you are in life and how old you are. But that might mean making real sacrifices or taking scary risks to fight for your dream so you can be fulfilled and happy. No one said it’s gonna be an easy fight. I know for me, it hasn’t been easy but I do know one thing: music and art is everything to me. While both have been on my mind since my late teens/ early 20’s, I am now investing the money, time, and energy I know is needed to make my dreams a reality. If you really want it, build the courage, are willing to hustle and put in the work, then your dreams are yours for the taking.
These quotes stood out to me because it is a self-reminder to remain persistent and persevere. Along the way, God is guiding me through tribulation as a an ultimate test to achieve your goals and your vision (as I feel that he has does and am grateful for). As my mantra has been and will always be, nothing worth having is going to be easy. So this post is for any of you are beginning a new journey or feel are struggling in their journey, best believe there is a higher power watching and protecting you in the process. There is no real growth without a challenge. Rejection is only God’s way of redirecting you an/ or simply challenging your own belief in your vision. I’ve always trusted in my vision and in God’s blessing. With that being said, I’d like to thank those who have stuck with me and read til the end of this post. I’d like to leave you with an another touching quote to think about, and that is don’t forget to: Believe big, pray bold.
After being quarantined for 3 weeks straight, I thought I get some air and take a stroll at the beach.
My original plan was to hit up Playa Del Rey, where I could take some photos with my new drone. Given that it was a Sunday, it was difficult to find parking. As I continued to cruise through Vista Del Mar (with the most gorgeous view, even more beautiful during sunset hours), I found myself at the Dockweiler Beach. Parking was $13 right in front of the beach. It was pretty packed at the beach but plenty beach for everyone to enjoy haha. Though I couldn’t take pictures with my drone, I enjoyed the view just as much. Above are few of the pictures I took. It felt so good to take a break, feeling the wind brush across my skin, feet dug in the stand, and the sound of the waves crashing into each other. Needless to say, it was a mini getaway from this new of quarantine and isolation.
