Big Creek Greenway Trail Hike

For my peaches who reside in the amazing country side of Georgia!
Took a short hike at Big Creek Greenway. A refreshing walk with a pretty view.
Initially went to find good shots for my drone, but left with no luck..
Not sure if these trails are solely used for bikers, but found that there were plenty bikers.
If you are familiar with the area, please let me know down below!
Would like to apologize to all the bikers for the interference lol
Nonetheless the walk was worthwhile 🙂

Chasing Trane (2016) Netflix Documentary

American jazz saxophonist and composer, John Coltrane, was at the forefront of jazz during the early bebop days. Coltrane grew up in the South during the Jim Crow of the Civil War Era. Growing up in a religious family, Coltrane was inspired by some members who were ministers– very much considering himself spiritual, which shaped his musicality and craft as a musician. Others in the film compared him to the likes of Albert Einstein as Coltrane was a deep thinker also inspired by other deep thinkers. Coltrane began his career performing alongside Miles Davis and his Quartet in his album Kind Of Blue . Coltrane than later produced his own Giant Steps. It was evident that through his performance he enjoyed creating and performing music that brought people together through spiritual consciousness.

Coltrane was gifted in the sense of being “innovative, thinking of what to do next”, grappling with “a sense of struggle and thinking through the next problem”. He performed with no ego, but only to show what was his reason of being there. Coltrane didn’t care what critics had to sway. If they like it, they like it. If they don’t, they don’t. Coltrane’s message was to be brave and no doubt himself in being authentic. He used the saxophone to speak through spiritually even if others didn’t necessarily understand it.

In Bill Clinton’s words in describing Coltrane he states, “any love for music and regard for the craft, you hear 3 or 4 notes, this man owns this horn, this music and at least when he is playing is the master of his soul”. Coltrane as a master of his craft, was never quite satisfied with his own work. Coltrane possessed an intensity in the tone of his sax, a wailing sound, that came from the soul. He was described as quiet, but spiritual in the sense that people would “part from him like the Red Sea”. Coltrane ultimately took jazz forward in experimenting with the music and pushing it to the limit, and it truly showed through his artistry. For all music fanatics and or even aspiring musicians, I would definitely recommend the Netflix film.

Visited an amazing family park not too long ago here in Johns Creek, Georgia.
It was very serene and scenic, with a lake that stretched distances away and families of ducks swimming in the water.
Great place to not only spend time with loved ones but also to take gorgeous pictures and footage.

Sinatra: All or Nothing at All (2015) Netflix Review

(Click here to purchase Nothing But The Best on Amazon)

This one is for any Frank Sinatra lovers out there!
Ashamed to say that I only watched this film recently, but definitely glad I finally did.

The film is about Sinatra’s life journey as a young jewish boy in New Jersey trying to find his way as an aspiring singer in the 30’s during the Great Depression. Though his father was against his dreams of becoming singer, his father later got back on board and became the proudest father when he began singing in his own shows. He was a hard working minority who went from the typical narrative of rags to rich. Determined to become a successful singer, Sinatra sought to be the best performer in order to survive in the 30’s by working hard. Sinatra ultimately shaped professionalism in the 30’s during the Great Depression. Sinatra changed the way people saw Jewish Americans through his diction in song and style.

In the film, they share that Sinatra later used his platform of fame to help the poor jewish community, who identified himself growing up. I also admired that he was a white crooner who was overtly against racism and discrimination in the entertainment industry and stood up for black artists. He worked close with fellow black artist such as Sammy Davis. All in all, was such a great film and showcased Sinatra’s passion as an artist, singer, and human being. All or Nothing. Such a legend. 10/10 recommend.

New Jewelry Idea: @ChainofArts Etsy Shop

Hi guys, I apologize for the lack of posting.. I am currently staying with my parents in the East and am trying to spend quality time with my family while I can. Of course, while I can’t help it, I am always thinking of new ideas & content to post on my blog and in the future, my new shop.

Lately, I have been thinking about switching up my jewelry on my shop and would like to start selling gold chain jewelry, mostly necklaces and later earrings. I would say this is for my younger female crowd (while my shop is open to any one) and would like to see your input and feedback on this idea. I am super excited as I find that gold chain jewelry is such a trend at the moment. It would more like very simplistic, minimalistic and elegant. I am thinking herringbone, double chain jewelry charms necklaces. I am totally open to new ideas and would love to hear if this is something ya’ll might be interested in 🙂

Also, I have been creating new content for my music and on my drone so I am also super stoked that share that with ya’ll as well. miss ya’ll!

much love,

Chain Of Arts: My Mavic Mini Review

As promised, I thought I’d give a little two cents on my Mavic Mini– which I am so incredibly excited for.
If you check out my previous post which you can find here New Purchase: Mavic Mini Drone, I share a little snippet of what I caught when I took her out for the first time. The Mavic Mini is so amazing in regards to what it is capable of in consideration of its’ compact size.

Here are some photos to give you an ideas of what the purchase includes, which are pictured below:

For the price of about $437, all items were included above.
I purchased my Mavic Mini directly from DJI and shipping was fairly fast and easy.
One thing I was must say is that I regret not purchasing the combo pack which includes extra battery and a hub charger, which I found would’ve been extra useful. For the combo pack, it would be an additional $100. Not too bad if I should say so myself. Other than that, if you are eager and simply looking for the device itself, everything you need is included in it’s original package– which is what I was looking for at the time haha.
It took about 4 days in total for package to arrive.
Below are a few up close photos of what was included in my box.

The great thing about purchasing the Mavic Mini is that its weight lies a little under 250g, 249g to be exact.
For those who are new to the drone world, as am I, this is extremely convenient because you are not required to register your done under the FAA, or the Federal Aviation Administration. Anything above 250g would need to be registered under FAA regulation. This makes it a bit easier to find areas to fly your done and bypass strict regulations of FAA without much of a hassle.
BUT of course, however, you do still need to take caution as any damages caused by the drone under hands (whether to human or property damage) is a liability for you as a drone flyer. So while the drone can bring so much joy, please be careful out there when operating!

Now for the technical and mechanics of the drone, I chose this drone because it is capable of flying about 4Kilo wide (2K miles wide) and about 600 ft high– which is actually pretty amazing for its size in comparison to other regular size drones. It has a 2.7k resolution which is astonishing for a drone much smaller than the average as well. It’s battery life also surpasses that of the average drones, which is 30 minutes. The typical battery life for other regular sized drones is about 15-20 min. It’s high resolution also allows you to take high quality photography and videos. Another thing to note is, the Mavic Mini has a return to home setting that allows your drone to fly back to you automatically when requested or when the drone senses that it is at low battery. I find it is fairly easy to operate once you get to know and familiarize yourself with its settings. The only thing I wish more of the drone was for it to have an active track/ follow you feature that allows the drone to follow you without any control of the device. I feel it is a bummer if you were looking to use the device for vlogs and such. Other than that, I have not experimented my drone long enough to list out its cons just yet, but would say I am pretty content with its performance so far.

With that being said, I hope this aids you in your own decision of purchasing the drone or resorting to another that may meets your needs much better. But for what it is, I think the Mavic Mini is packed with great features that makes it hard to beat considering its more affordable pricing. As a first time drone owner, I have much to learn in terms of the technical aspect and how to incorporate my knowledge of that into the beautiful art of cinematography. If you are interested please feel free to check out the drone on the DJI site or find a slightly cheaper deal on Amazon. Be sure to use my Affiliate link! Free shipping included.

I am considering of filming/ recording a more closer review as I experiment with my drone. Be sure to follow it up on my Youtube Channel if uploaded!
This post is by no means sponsored but made to share my excitement with ya’ll on this game changing device Haha
Feel free to leave any comments or questions or below! 🙂

Have fun, and fly on!

Art Page Update

Greetings!

As someone who has a great appreciation for the arts (more specifically realism drawing), I was adamant about creating an art to go along with my site as well. On my art page, you’ll find a collection of various art pieces (mostly sketches) I created either out of pure inspiration or on the whim. I am sad to say that I don’t dedicate the amount of time I know I need to for my art, which is why I am so grateful during this time of COVID 19.. to really hone in on my talents and skills.

Feel free to check out my art page here, along with my other passions on my site.
Quite frankly, my head space has been filled with so much anxiety and I feel overwhelmed because of all the ideas and creativity I have floating in it.. there’s so much I want to do and know that needs to get done that I am taking it day by day. And while art is my priority, it is just as much my escape (along with music of course).

I also thought that I share some tips & tricks with you guys in regards to my art.
As I have taken my share of art lessons throughout school, I do not have formal education behind my art.
However, it is one of my greatest joys in life as I continue to improve and grow my skillset in art.

Please expect more content soon.

Anyhow, hope ya’ll enjoy

x Lo

wow, what can I say..
it’s honestly been such a long time coming guys.

I literally gave birthed the idea of creating blog back in 2016. my love for the music, arts, vlogging, and writing led me here. that was four years ago! four years ago. (& counting of course) but sheesh! And she’s only growing! & just recently, very quickly!
I know I could have spent much more time only my blog all these years, but know that this blog has always always been on the back of my mind. I found it really difficult to make the time & be in the right creative space to produce for you guys (in the midst of school, working 3 jobs, and others problems, etc). but I am glad I am back on track. I am only finding my niche, sound, & style as an artist and am only continuing to develop over time. I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for me.
I always put in the energy that I can when working on my blog. For those who are new, thank you for joining me on this journey. You are bound to find something on here that will pique your interest.

My blog/ site is like my baby and I’m only here to nature here & watch her grow!

Netflix Show: Glow Up (2019) Review

Soo, as you know I always love to share my suggestions with you whether it be in the arts, music, or, in this case, films. Only now, however, I just realized that in sharing these suggestions with you, that they somehow evolve into reviews. So I guess this is a start of new series on my blog that I will be calling such pieces “reviews”. Sit back, grab ya popcorn, & read on ya’ll.

I would like to start off by saying that I hope everyone is well & safe, and that you have spent this time either finding some peace or maybe even channeling your energy into productivity during this time.

I have spent the last couple weeks since my return from Georgia watching documentary films/ series as I have discussed in my last post “Netflix Documentary: Quincy (2018)”, which you can read here.

This time I would like share with you a new series that I just finished called Glow Up.  I only watched the first season (aired March 2019) since it’s still fairly new. The second season was expected sometime last month, but unfortunately due to current circumstances it has been postponed till further notice (which is the case for all entertainment).

Anyhow, though it may not be a documentary, I find the series just as inspiring. In short, this series is based on a reality competition among aspiring make up artists fighting to earn the “Next Make-Up Star” title. The show is filmed in London, where all the people seem so well-mannered and polite totally different from LA but that’s beside the point, haha. (focus Lorraine) Though I do not identify as being a make-up artist, I do identify as an artist, and witnessing the amount of passion, love, and sheer resilience these contestants had throughout the competition was so inspiring that a lit a fire in me that needed to be lit. Easily, there were contestants that I wanted to be befriend only because I felt the desperation that they had (and excuse my language) to win the damn thing; they poured their heart & soul into every brush stroke, creating a work of art that brought them immense joy. Every art piece, most importantly, told a story. They fought every fight they could, and when faced with rejection they left with humility & even a stronger passion to be pursue their dreams. And there is nothing, at least for me, more noble than that.

glow-up-review-netflix.jpg

As an aspiring singer, myself, I can only imagine similar feelings & emotions I will experience if (and when) I do join a vocal competition. It’s as if their work of art was their oxygen and they could not go on & live if it did not appease their very souls. Oh yeah & I can totally relate to the perfectionist syndrome. Lol. Not to mention, the works some of these artists created was absolutely mind-blowing (as seen above). Just absolutely iconic. Ding Dong! (if you will). It only made me wish that I could create something so touching & beautiful.

All in all, I totally recommend the series to those reading who are aspiring MUA or simply aspiring artists. Art is art, and one artist’s experience does not differ from another– only because the passion is passion, and it’s either there or it’s not. And it was very much evident that the passion burned in the souls of these contestants..

Anyhow, don’t want to spoil the film for ya’ll, watch the series for your dose of inspiration (and also to get my references in this post hehe). That’s enough of me rambling! Go on now dahling, & get ya Netflix on!
