The 2019 Christmas Benefit Concert was quite a way to end the last year of the decade. While it happened two months ago, it feels as though it was only yesterday when I was invited by the concert host, Rory Seldon, to participate. To say the least, the concert was festive with the help of amazing musicians/ singers/ talents to spread the holidays cheers, lights to put us in the holiday spirit, and lastly, delicious food to bring us together at the dinner table.
As I have mentioned before, I feel so incredibly blessed to have participated in such an important event with people who share the love of the holidays and of course, music. The concert included performances of both the band Rory Seldon with InnerSession and Aretha Franklin’s manager of 25 years, H.B. Barnum’s LIFE Choir. I feel blessed to be in the presence of such phenomenal talent, it amazes me how great music can bring together a room full of strangers. While I only consider myself a rookie next to such professional acts, I only feel inspired to improve and grow as a vocalist myself. For me the concert, was the catalyst I needed to believe in myself, have faith, and go for my dreams— a leap of faith, I should say.
At the end of the concert, I had the chance of meeting Motown Singer Brenda Holloway, who also participated at the event and sounded so lovely. I had such an amazing time that the concert will remain an unforgettable memory of mine that I am so incredibly proud of and blessed for in the pursuits of my passion for music. I thought I’d share with you all pictures of the 2019 Christmas Benefit Concert that I will cherish for a long time, thank you again for sticking with me.
